ENGINEERING – Software Engineer

Fortress Technologies is a leading provider of wireless networking equipment to various organizations within the US government. We are seeking a talented individual contributor to work with a team of experienced engineers, delivering innovative high assurance wireless networking products. Candidate must have real world knowledge applicable to our products and a disciplined approach to product development. The individual will need to meet TTM needs while ensuring product quality in dynamic team environment.

Requirements: 

  • Networking: L2 and L3, TCP/IP
  • Very good understanding of control/data plane separation
  • Knowledge of linux programming in for embedded devices, Linux Internals, BSP, Linux drivers and kernel level software
  • Experience in integrating 3rd party libraries (forwarding, drivers, and user space) into Linux
  • A thorough understanding of algorithms, data structures, optimizations, etc
  • Proven record of delivering complex networking products (from inception to delivery)
  • Strong experience with Embedded real-time systems: development, debugging, etc
  • Excellent coding ability with experience developing networking software in C/C++
  • Excellent debugging skills using standard and creative techniques & tools
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and applications
  • Must have a positive attitude and strong desire to achieve results
  • Must be a team player
  • BSEE/BSCE/BSCS or equivalent with 5-10 years software development experience

Desired Experience: 

  • Experience with Multicast
  • Experience developing software/embedded systems for IPSec/VPN, Firewall, and wireless mesh technologies
  • Experience with security protocols (IKE, IPSec, SSL)
  • Experience with radio (protocols, drivers, etc)
  • Knowledge of network related test equipment
