Lt. General Jeffrey W. Oster U.S.M.C. (Retired)

Lt. General Jeffrey W. Oster is an idependent consultant specializing in defense related matters. General Oster served as the Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, DC, from July 1, 1993, until his retirement on October 31, 1998. In this position, General Oster was responsible for all aspects of financial management for the U.S. Marine Corps. Accordingly, General Oster had the lead role in defining, supporting, and defending Marine Corps resource requirements in the Department of Defense, the Office of Management and Budget, the White House, and before the Congress.

General Oster served in Baghdad, Iraq, from January through June 2004 as the Deputy Administrator and Chief Operating Officer of the Coalition Provisional Authority, one of two principal deputies to Ambassador L. Paul Bremer. He holds a B.S. in Geology and an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin. In professional military education, General Oster was the Honor Graduate at two Marine Corps Schools, The Basic School and the Amphibious Warfare School. He is also a graduate of the National War College.
