Janet Kumpu: President

Janet Kumpu joined Fortress in 1997 and served as both CFO and VP Operations prior to being named President in 2004. She was instrumental in changing the strategic direction of the company, recapitalizing Fortress and focusing the company on secure wireless networking. Kumpu's strategic vision and leadership has been integral to the pioneering technology, product development and market success of Fortress. She now leads this innovative company in expanding its market leadership through strategic partnerships, technology advancements and global expansion.

Prior to Fortress, Kumpu held various executive positions in the information technology industry with a long tenure at Digital Equipment Corporation (Digital). She has more than 18 years of management experience with positions in business operations, strategic planning, finance, and business consulting. During her management career at Digital she served in various roles including Senior Finance and Operations Manager driving the North American Personal Computer Business Unit from inception to $4 billion in annual revenues. She also contributed to the successful entry of Digital into the PC market by establishing a distribution and channel sales model that led to its successful market expansion.
