Fortress Technologies has been one of the earliest adopters of the FIPS-140 standard (first FIPS certificate is #33). Fortress has over 25 FIPS-140-1 and 140-2 certificates at level 1 and level 2. Fortress Technologies closely follows the development of the upcoming FIPS-140-3 standard.

Fortress Technologies closely follows the National Information Assurance Partnership Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS), managed and staffed by the National Security Agency (NSA). Fortress products have completed a Common Criteria evaluation at the EAL3 level.

Fortress Technologies partnered with the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dam Neck, a component of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), to develop and deliver a prototype mobile ad hoc wireless network for deployment in the wireless tactical battle space. This work included a complete mesh network, under a $1.4 million "Secure, Robust Tactical Wireless 'Mesh' Network" grant program.

Fortress Technologies is active in the Vehicular Integration for C4ISR/EW Interoperability (VICTORY) working group. VICTORY is an effort to develop and validate a set of open standards for the integration of C4ISR and related items of equipment on Army platforms. The goals are to facilitate a decrease in SWaP requirements, technology transition, and evolutionary growth in capabilities. VICTORY standards will be developed in cooperation with the industry. It is intended that these standards to be used in a large number of future acquisition programs.
